It was a day of exploration, celebration and fun at the Wisconsin State Fair on Wednesday, Aug. 10.

Whether learning about cheese making, testing athletic talents, dressing up like a UW band member, finding Bucky Badger or exploring the hands-on scientific exploration stations, there was something for everyone.

We share a big thank you to all fair-goers whose donation of school supplies will make a positive impact for students in Milwaukee Public Schools. We also send a special thanks to the many volunteers who helped us collect and distribute the school supplies.

The UW-Madison Day at the Wisconsin State Fair was one of the first events kicking off the Year of the Wisconsin Idea at UW-Madison. This year is dedicated to celebrating the university’s long-standing tradition of service and outreach throughout the state and the world.
