Main Stage
10–10:45 a.m.: The Delights of Dairy: Cheesemaking demonstrations and free ice cream samples from the Babcock Dairy Store while supplies last.
11–12:30 p.m.: Wisconsin Public Radio live broadcast with Larry Meiller. At 11:00 Larry will talk with Scott Craven, Professor of Wildlife Ecology and Associate Chair of the UW–Madison Department of Forest and Wildlife Ecology. Scott will talk about the wonderful world of Wisconsin wildlife. Then, at 11:45, Larry welcomes John Greenler, Director of Education and Outreach at the Great Lakes Bioenergy Research Center at the UW–Madison to discuss the scientific challenges of producing ethanol.
12:45–1:30 p.m.: Hear the stars of the future as the UW–Madison Student Brass Quintet entertains with everything from classical to classic polkas
1:45–2:30 p.m.: Pre-parade Pep Rally UW–Madison Style, with Bucky Badger and the world famous UW Marching Band
3 p.m. Catch UW–Madison spirit on parade as the university joins in the fair’s daily parade
3:30–4:15 p.m.: The Wonders of Physics: This hot show always sells out – and you can see it for free! Prepare for astonishing demonstrations that will entertain and educate
4:30–5:15 p.m.: The UW–Madison Student Brass Quintet in an encore performance
On the Mall, 9 a.m.–4 p.m.
- Experience science as discovery with hands-on activities at more than a dozen ‘Exploration Stations.’
- Test your athletic skills at UW Badger pop-a-shot and football games, or check out Badger trophies such as the coveted Paul Bunyan ax.
- Decorate your own Badger visor with the Memorial Union Craftshop.
- Tour a fleet of vehicles, including the AERIBAGO (a modified recreational vehicle tricked out as a weather tracker), a SHOW (Survey of Wisconsin Health) van, and the Babcock Hall Ice Cream Truck.
- Meet staff from campus and the Wisconsin Alumni Association to discuss your interests, ideas and questions about UW–Madison.
- Join Wisconsin Public Radio host Larry Meiller from 11 a.m.–12:30 p.m. in a live broadcast as he discusses environmental and consumer issues, gardening and helpful “how-to” topics with his guests.
